WHAT DOES A TYPICAL COOKIN’ WITH KIDS CLASS LOOK LIKE?

We offer a six (6) week session consisting of a 90-minute class, one (1) time per week. During the 6 week session, children will learn about food and develop culinary skills that allow them to try new recipes and gain the confidence to prepare foods at home. Students will prepare different recipes from scratch each class and at the end of the session, we will provide them with an electrical copy of the recipes so they can practice their skills and creations at home upon request.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH HIM/HER TO CLASS?

All children will be provided with a personalized apron on the first day of class. We ask that it be washed weekly and be returned with your child to each class.

IS IT SAFE?

Absolutely! Our school strives to provide an interactive, safe, and exciting environment for our kids. Cookin’ With Kids uses age-appropriate culinary tools in preparing their food and will receive the appropriate level of adult guidance and support to successfully make their recipes. We will also provide each cook with a cutting glove to use during instructional time to insure their safety.

DO I DROP-OFF MY CHILD OR STAY?

Cookin’ with Kids is a drop-off class. After years of experience, we have come to realize that this creates the best learning environment for the children and avoids a lot of distractions in the classroom.

ARE THE CLASSES DIVIDED BY AGES OR ARE ALL THE AGES MIXED?

Students are divided into 3 age groups. Mini Cooks (Ages 5-7), Junior Cooks (Ages 8-10), and Master Cooks (Ages 11-14).

DO YOU OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES?

Yes, we do! Gift cards are available for purchase in any denomination through our website. Once your request has been submitted, we will email the gift card to the recipient! www.cookinwithkids.com

DO YOU HAVE A GROUP RATE OR DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE EVENTS?

Yes, we do, although available dates are limited to when the studio isn’t otherwise booked (Friday’s only). If you have a Brownie/Girl Scout troop, a mom’s group, or if you simply want to schedule a class with a group of friends, you can absolutely contact us to schedule a private event! We require a minimum of 12 students to book a private event. Brownie Troops, Girl Scout Troops and Homeschool Groups *only* are eligible for a 10% discount but the minimum number of children must still be 12. Please contact us to discuss planning the perfect event for your group.

DO YOU OFFER BIRTHDAY PARTIES?

Yes! Cookin’ With Kids would love to help plan the perfect party to celebrate your child! We offer personalized parties on the weekends and provide a list of party themes. Please visit our “parties” tab to see all of the options available.

DO YOU OFFER MOMMY-AND-ME COOKING CLASSES?

No, not at this time. Sorry!

HOW CAN I STAY UP-TO-DATE ON EVENTS?

We have several options! First, you can always check back on our website www.cookinwithkids.com for any updates. Also, we try to post everything social media sites as well, so be sure to “Like” us on Facebook and “Follow Us” on Instagram and Twitter. DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS/ WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Here at Cookin’ With Kids, we are unique in that the supplies for our classes are ordered well in advance of each class. We also purchase food and supplies based upon the number of children participating in each class. The classes we offer have limited space so once a spot for a class is reserved, this means that someone else will miss the opportunity to participate. Due to operational costs and the fact that our food is perishable, all classes purchases are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE. However, we also understand that life happens and somethings are beyond our control. If this happens and you expect to miss a class or an entire session (i.e., all 6 weeks), we simply require that you provide Cookin’ With Kids with WRITTEN notice 48 hours prior to your missed event (Please note: we do NOT offer makeup classes for individual sick days that are missed unless it is at the liability of Cookin’ With Kids). If you have to miss an ENTIRE session, and you have notified us within 48-hours, we will keep the credit of your purchase on file for any future session or party. This amount can be applies towards any future session or birthday party within one (1) year of its original date of purchase. Also, if you need to change to a different class for any reason, you will be charged a $25 change order fee per student registered.

WILL MY CHILD EAT THE FOOD THEY PREPARE IN CLASS?

Absolutely!!! Students will eat all the food they prepare in class. Sometimes, a food is new to a child but we encourage all of our students to try at least one bite of the food they prepare! They will never know if they like it until they try it!
